10/17/2019 0 Comments The Journey of HibernationWhen we slow down, When we re-evaluate life, When we prioritise our life, We can give fully in presence to self and with others with love. In hibernation, in a semi-hermit life, is completely new to me. Living fully in the Nature, in the countryside is also new to me. Yes, A New Life I embrace in the past 6 months. It is not totally easy as the days get shorter and darker as I enter into hibernation. I witness the birds flow in rhythm with the season, with ease, with joy, preparing themselves into the winter. In spring, I hear them welcome the new morning with a love song at 4.03am. Gradually, as autumn approaches, I witness they coo at 6.30 then to 7.30am. I find myself flowing into the rhythm somehow. I find myself waking up instead of 4.30am during Spring and Summer. Now I wake up later at 6.30 or 7.30am. The birds in our Sanctuary Forest Wild Garden is my alarm clock. Even in the evening, they retreat to sleep much earlier. So do I. This period of hibernation is very interesting for me. Not easy as I adjust to the change of the days and weather. Physically, I am very sensitive. If I get caught in the wind in my head without being protected, I get headaches. Greater self-care and deeper knowing myself in my body, heart, soul & mind. Going into the process leads me to realise staying away from the social media such as Facebook is very healthy for me. As I re-evaluate, re prioritise my life, deeply loving myself, giving myself time to focus on our forest garden and house, I find myself more time, not just for myself, but to Jeroen, my husband and even to my mum in Singapore when we wat app. Hibernation leads me to even more slowing down to my rhythm and finding myself more time to be fully presence and to rest. Because I give my full presence whenever I'm in a social setting and that can drain me out. I am as such. You maybe different. Knowing thyself deep enough and we can live life more to the fullest whether it is out gardening, social or rest. For me, is simply sitting in our Forest Wild Garden and listen to the beautiful love songs of birds and feel the magic and love in the air or look up to the geese flying in flocks up in the sky. It always lifts up my heart & soul. * If you like to read my previous post that you can use for contemplation "Wisdom of Hibernation". *
