I grow, play and heal with FOOD!
I am a Hermit, Mystic & Mama.
I am a Hermit, Mystic & Mama.
The Wild & Sister, Mother Earth constantly remind me of love.
To fall in love over and over again.
To see God in everything.
Even when it is a difficult period.
While I vacuumed the floor yesterday, the moment of doing the house chore awakens me. My process of loving my new home evolves by taking time to clean the house. It is not just the act of cleaning the house. It is the act of love in the process in the cleaning. I wrote in my previous post on 'Loving my home'. I come to see that when we make time, slow down, take time to clean our house for instance, rather than rushing and feeling pressed to clean the house, we actually give love to our house we live in. If we cannot give and make time to love our house, then what is home to us? All the events of the house unexpectedly breaking down and house so cold awakens me, also about people without a home, the homeless.
God continues to reveal to me in the midst of the difficult period, there is still beauty, there is love. God is always present.
Do we see it?
Do we see God in everything?
Do we pause and slow down?
Are we presence with the moment?
Are we presence with God?
I have moments where I was lacking of love, when I am, I cannot see the goodness and beauty or God in it. When I allow myself to be open and let God enter, let love flow in and out of me, my heart opens to see the goodness and beauty in it. I am humbled when it happens, grateful for the awakening again. The constant commitment of 'Yes' to self is not easy and very uncomfortable. Yet then again as Jesus says, 'The Truth will set us free.' And The truth does set us free. The process is never an easy comfortable path.
Hereby, I want to share this beautiful wisdom by Fr Arrupe on 'Fall in Love'.
Fr. Pedro Arrupe, SJ (1907-1991)
Fall In Love
Nothing is more practical than
finding God, than
falling in Love
in a quite absolute, final way.
What you are in love with,
what seizes your imagination, will affect everything.
It will decide
what will get you out of bed in the morning,
what you do with your evenings,
how you spend your weekends,
what you read, whom you know,
what breaks your heart,
and what amazes you with joy and gratitude.
Fall in Love, stay in love,
and it will decide everything.
~ quote taken from an interview with Fr Pedro Arrupe, SJ
Loving deeply our home whether our body, soul or house, I come to see to take time and slow down to be in the presence, to make time with our loved ones, and to make time to cook a home cook loving meal for each other. The meal can be nutritious, simple and yet full of love because the meal is made out of love.
Yesterday, again, we made time for each other to cook ourselves homemade lunch and dinner. Jeroen baked the bread and we made and baked the burger together. I shaped the meat into a burger and put into the pan and Jeroen baked it. The joy of cooking together and then Jeroen put the bread together and a glass of raw milk to go with it.
In the evening, I prepared soup over the wood stove as Jeroen started the fire to warm the house and at the same time I cooked the soup.
I came up with the idea after I asked what does Jeroen want to eat during the winter time and I asked myself too. Loving ourselves deeply and knowing what our comfort food are helps us to go through the Winter period. And in return we created a lunch and dinner that are comfort food for us.
If we did not make time to share, talk and understand self and each other deeply, we will not discover what help us to bear the cold winter together.
It is not just a commitment to self but a commitment to each other as husband and wife, as a married couple together. And this is also fall in love with our food God/Sister, Mother Earth has given us, nourishing our body lovingly, and loving self and each other deeply and walk through the difficult period as a couple.
Shalom! Peace-FuLL! Bless-FuLL ! Love-FuLL To you!
