Black & White Photography

A sculpture by Nirad in their "De Witte Wolk" Garden.
My husband, Jeroen, learns the art of slowing down with his camera, Mamiya C3, Twins Lens Reflex.  The process of using the manual old classic camera transforms him in the process.  Because in each film, he can only take 12 shots.  Thus, he pays more attention to the details, more in connection with the subjects and more presence in the here and now. He learns to "be" with the environment, himself and the subject he is focusing on. He also finds it very therapeutic. As compared to the digital camera, he can constantly just snap lots of photos and it is more of doing than in the being. In his daily life now, he slows down much more, able to be in silence and stillness, listen and connect more with his heart which he used to find it very difficult to feel or access. Now he is more in touch with how he feels.

The photos I share here are taken at De Witte Wolk. We went to stay at the bed and breakfast for 2 nights and it is run by Nirad and Jagran.  I found out Nirad is already in her 70s.  I am blessed to have connected with her.  Her pottery art in her garden is very inspiring!  We have a very heartfelt heart to heart conversation with each other.  I have never met a couple who are so connected with each other and help each other to grow and transform till today.  We love their garden, home and presences.  What touched me is Jagran's tender goodbye hug.  I can feel his fatherly love for Jeroen and me.  And also witnessing how he hugged Jeroen with such love giving from his heart.  I've never met a man in my life who dares to love, who dares to radiate love through a very warm loving hug.  We went home with such a grateful heart and filled with joy and love.  They are a source of inspiration for both Jeroen and I, to age gracefully with each other and to grow and transform together.

I want to pen down what I learn from this precious connection.

"When a soul meets another soul, in our heart we know it, it is the love of God is us seeing the God in another, the connection of pure love." ~ Elizabeth

My desire to post here is to have courage to show up as who I am and in return to inspire each beautiful soul on earth to live life as who he/she is.  I am a seeker so I encourage you to be and continue to be a seeker.  Life is inevitable with ups and downs, challenges along our human journey.  However when we make time to insure the growth of our inner garden - our heart with  self-care, nourishment, growth, healing, play, creativity, silence and loving ourselves unconditionally, we can live life to the fullest with peace, bliss, contentment and gratitude, and  we can go forth to serve others in true joy and love.  I share here my journey with you as well as the ordinary moments I witness, experience and encounter in my daily life.  Let us journey together.  Let our journey begins.  let each of our unique soul's story unfolds like a rose opens her petals, revealing her heart.
